Teachers


Shonna Bingham
Shonna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Heritage having been a homeschool educator to her eight children for 25 years.  Shonna is passionate about teaching the truths of the gospel along with in depth, extensive secular knowledge.
Though she loves homeschooling, she has thoroughly enjoyed having her children at Heritage.  She loves the positive atmosphere and peace which prevail here.  The school has great resources for a quality education.
“We appreciate that focus here at Heritage.  The teachers are all very interested in our children as people and work hard to provide for their individual educational needs.  They respect us as parents, acknowledging the responsibility for our children is ours, working with us to help them achieve goals.”
Shonna is currently teaching as a teacher’s aide in the Montessori based preschool.  Prior to this position she was a teacher’s aide in the 6-9 year old classroom as well.  Shonna has been greatly appreciated by students and staff for her extensive knowledge and her willingness to learn. 

Tabitha Neal
Tabitha brings an enthusiastic and inspiring approach to learning into the Montessori Based Preschool at Heritage.  Her patient and delightful instruction style draw the children into a safe environment of inspiring learning.  Her specialty this year has consisted of phonics, music, and small group instruction. The staff and students have benefitted greatly from associating with Tabitha.  
Tabitha has a degree in elementary education from Utah State University.

Janeal Shaffer
Ameedaun Seelye - Office Manager
Ameedaun Seelye was born in Bountiful, Utah.  She graduated from Woods Cross High School and attended one year at Utah State University.  She is currently completing her Associates Degree in business administration with the University of Phoenix.
Ameedaun is an incredible asset to Heritage School  Her organizational skills, talents, and experience has been instrumental in attaining provisional accreditation in 2010 as well as other projects.  Heritage welcomes and applauds her extensive work in the capable management she provides.
Ameedaun is currently the office manager of Heritage.  She is the mother of four children and resides in Tremonton.   
Eleanor Jensen

Joni Harris
Joni Harris born on a farm in Idaho, loves drama and the sciences.  Her love of learning the science of the world brings her classes to life with experiments and active interaction with the environment.  Students are in for an exciting journey in her class.
“What I love about Heritage School is that you can teach the marvels of this world and recognize God’s hand in creating it, and TEACH it.”
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry as well as secondary education. 
Joni worked for Autoliv for 8 years in the quality lab and is the mother of 5 amazing individuals. 

Margo Tackett
Margo’s passion for history, literature, and the general education of youth has served Heritage School for 5 years.  Margo is a powerful and gifted teacher and has inspired her students to achieve a high level of skill and motivation in her classes.  Her unlimited appetite for knowledge has served her students as she opens the greatest classics of all time to them and encourages their imitation.
 “I have had the opportunity to teach students of all ages and am amazed at the level of understanding and enjoyment that can take place when a student is excited about learning and is actively taking part in their education.  I have been able to personally grow as a learner and a teacher by working at Heritage.”
Margo Tackett is a graduate of Utah State University with a BS in Elementary Education.  She holds a current teaching certificate and is working on her Masters Degree in El Ed.  Margo is married to Jason Tackett and is the mother of four outstanding children.

Peter Jensen - Administrator
Peter was born in Driggs, Idaho to Robin and Eleanor Jensen. He is the third of eleven children and moved with his family to the Bear River Valley in 1980. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1992 served an LDS mission in London, England.
Peter served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 2000 – 2006.  During that time he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2003 and Iraq in 2005 and 2008.
Peter’s vast knowledge of history, governments, political science, warfare, the American Founding, and literature, bring his classes alive with insight and real life application.  He is passionate about assisting youth to prepare themselves to fulfill their unique life missions at this exciting and pivotal point in the earth’s history.  
Peter has taught youth and adults in many forums and is excited to be serving the youth and faculty at Heritage School.
Peter is married to Tammera Aaron Jensen and has 3 amazing little girls.  He holds a BS in Political Science, an MA in International Relations, and is currently pursuing a degree in Political Philosophy from George Wythe University.
