Provisional Accreditation

We have now received provisional accreditation. This means that for all of the students grades 9th through 12th, the credits earned while attending our school will go towards graduation. All other schools must accept our credits. This is a wonderful thing for our school. The complete accreditation process takes 3 years to complete.

Learning about Africa. (Cont.)

The picture was made out of banana leaves.

Learning about Africa

Kookie Tanner and her daughters, Joylyn and Arrowyn came and visited some of our classes and brought with them photos of their recent trip to Africa. Arrowyn spent two months working in an orphange in Kenya. They showed us great handmade items and told us about the culture and people. They even taught us that "Jambo" means hello in Swahili and taught us a song that is sung to welcome visitors.

I was walking down the hall this morning and was struck by how beautiful it sounds to hear the children in their classrooms saying the Pledge of Allegiance. I love the opportunity we have to teach the children to be proud of this country and of the principles it was founded upon.
